WANTED:

DEAD OR ALIVE!

Jason fights for survival, but

will Liz or Sam turn him in?

Will Ric's tricks to use Sam to flush out Jason pay off?

This week on General Hospital, Elizabeth risks her life by hiding Jason in her art studio as dastardly DA Ric, and the entire PCPD turn the town upside down to find the fugitive.  As the mob enforcer recovers from his bullet wound, Ric reinstates Liz's husband, Lucky, to the police force and assigns him to find Jason's body or, if he's still alive, hand him in.  As Sam and Liz are about to find out, Ric will stop at nothing to nail Jason.

"Elizabeth doesn't really have any other options than to help Jason because he has always been there for her," explains Rebecca Herbst. "So, Lucky comes to the studio and she has to lie directly to his face. She's not thinking about whether she's going to feel guilty or not. She's not thinking about Lucky at the time because if she doesn't do this, Jason's going to die and his life is more important than her guilt, especially since she and Lucky are not on the best of paths right now. "After Lucky departs, Jason suggests that Elizabeth tell Lucky about their one night together. Of course, Jason doesn't remember that when he was near death, Liz slipped and confessed that he's the father of her baby. "It's even more difficult now because at the time, when she thought he was dying, it just came out," says Herbst. "Now, it's going to have to be a conscious decision and she's going to have to weigh all the factors of telling him.  She would love for him to know, but it would kill any chance for her and Lucky if Lucky found out."

Despite his condition, Jason remains adamant about tracking down the missing computer whiz, Spinelli, in order to free Sam from jail and clear their names, but Liz insists he stay put and heal.  "The more Jason risks by trying to save Sam, the more danger he is in" points out Herbst. Jason however, feels like a sitting duck and wants to keep moving.

At the police station, Ric tries to bully Sam into revealing where Jason is hiding. Sam stays silent, then receives a visit from Lucky, who is also on Jason's trail. Sam tries to convince Lucky that Ric is setting hi up so Ric can get closer to Elizabeth. "Ric wants Lucky and Jason to cross each other out and eliminate each other so that Liz will become available for," explains Steve Burton.  Adds Herbst, "Elizabeth doesn't want to believe that because deep down, she does care for Ric.  She once loved him.  She doesn't want to believe that he would be that malicious or even hurt her."

Convinced she'll lead him straight to Jason, Ric grants Sam Bail.  "Sam's not a fool" says Kelly Monaco.  "She'll do her best not to tip her hand" .  But that's just what happens when, dressed in Liz's surgical scrubs, Sam shows up at the studio and right behind her is..Officer Lucky. With Jason on the verge of capture, the pent-up frustration between the women explodes because of what Elizabeth perceives to be Sam's betrayal.

"In the beginning, more than anything, Elizabeth jus wanted to see Jason happy, so if that meant that he loves Sam and Sam loves him, fine," sighs Herbst. "But when Elizabeth thought that Jason could be dead, something kicked in.  So, when Sam comes over to the studio, Elizabeth rips into her because here Jason goes again, putting his life on the line to save Sam from her own dumb mistakes. Elizabeth has bitten her tongue until now because she didn't want to offend Jason. Now the gloves are off."

"Bring it on" taunts Monaco as Sam's reply.

But as the women get ready to rumble, it's Lucky who realizes that Jason is nowhere to be found..which means he's hurt, running and is open prey for both Ric and even worse, Alcazar.
